Comments
If you leave a comment on my website, I’ll receive the information you provide in the comment form. Your comment will only be published after approval, and once it’s visible, your profile picture (if you use one with Gravatar) may also be shown.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment has been approved, your profile picture will be publicly visible in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload photos to this website, please avoid using images that contain location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the site could technically download them and extract that information.
Cookies
When you leave a comment, you can choose to save your name, email address, and website in cookies – so you don’t have to re-enter them the next time.
If you have an account and log in, cookies will also help remember your login details and settings for a smoother experience.
Embedded content
Some posts or pages on this site may include embedded content, like YouTube videos, SoundCloud players, or Instagram posts. This content behaves just as if you visited those platforms directly, meaning they might collect data about you.
Your data
I don’t share personal information with anyone else. The only data stored here comes from things you submit yourself (like comments or your account details if you register).
You can always request a copy of your personal data or ask me to delete it.
How long I retain your data
If you leave a comment, that comment and its metadata are stored indefinitely. This allows me to automatically recognize and approve follow-up comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users who register on my website, I also store the personal information they provide in their user profiles. Every user can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (the username cannot be changed). As the site administrator, I can also view and edit this information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this website, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data I hold about you, including any data you have provided to me. You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
